Can I prepare you for something?

Not everyone is going to celebrate your growth.

In fact, some of the people who have known you the longest may be the ones who struggle the most to believe in who you're becoming.

That hurts.

But it's real.

In Matthew 13, Jesus returned to His hometown. These were His people. They watched Him grow up. They knew His family. They knew His background.

Instead of embracing Him, they questioned Him.

"A prophet is not without honor except in his own town and in his own home."
— Matthew 13:57

Think about that.

The very people who should have recognized His calling... couldn't see past His history.

And if you're trying to build something meaningful, you'll experience the same thing.

People See the Old You

The hardest thing for some people to accept is that you've changed.

They still see the insecure version.

The broke version.

The immature version.

The version that made mistakes.

Meanwhile, you've been putting in the work.

You've been reading.

Learning.

Praying.

Growing.

Becoming.

But they're still looking at an old photograph while you're living a new life.

Don't let their outdated perception become your present reality.

Familiarity Breeds Limitation

Sometimes people become so familiar with you that they stop expecting anything extraordinary from you.

"That's just Manny."

"That's just who they've always been."

No.

People evolve.

People heal.

People grow.

Don't let someone else's limited view become the ceiling over your life.

Stop Chasing Validation

This is where a lot of entrepreneurs get stuck.

They spend years trying to prove themselves to people who have already made up their minds.

Stop it.

You don't need everyone to believe in you before you believe in yourself.

You don't need unanimous approval to pursue your purpose.

Validation is nice.

Obedience is better.

Keep Building Anyway

What if nobody claps?

Build anyway.

What if your family doesn't understand?

Build anyway.

What if your friends think you're dreaming too big?

Build anyway.

Your assignment wasn't given by the crowd.

So don't let the crowd decide whether you pursue it.

Respect Doesn't Always Come First

Here's something I've learned.

Sometimes respect doesn't show up until after the results do.

People doubt the vision...

Until it works.

They question your discipline...

Until they see the outcome.

They laugh at your consistency...

Until it produces something they can't ignore.

Don't waste energy trying to convince people.

Use that energy to keep becoming.

Here's the Bottom Line

Some people will always see who you were instead of who you're becoming.

That's their limitation, not yours.

Your job isn't to force people to change their minds.

Your job is to keep growing.

Keep learning.

Keep serving.

Keep building.

And remember this:

The people who underestimate you today may one day be inspired by the life you refused to quit on.

So stop waiting for permission from people who only know your past.

Your future is calling.

Answer it.

Now go make it happen!
