You Can’t Carry the Next Level With the Old You

What's up, my Greats!
Let’s get straight to it.
You keep asking for growth
But you’re trying to carry it with the same mindset, the same habits, and the same identity.
That doesn’t work.
Jesus said it like this:
“Neither do people pour new wine into old wineskins. If they do, the skins will burst… No, they pour new wine into new wineskins, and both are preserved.”
— Matthew 9:17
That’s not just a spiritual statement. That’s a life principle.
You Want More… But Are You Built for More?
Everybody wants the next level.
More money.
More influence.
More responsibility.
More opportunity.
But here’s the real question:
Can the current version of you actually hold it?
Because if not, the very thing you’re praying for will break you.
That’s what happens when new wine meets old wineskins. Pressure builds. Things stretch. And if you haven’t grown… something bursts.
Growth Requires Letting Go
You don’t step into the next level by adding more.
You step into it by becoming someone new.
That means:
-
Old habits have to go
-
Old thinking has to go
-
Old excuses have to go
-
Old environments might have to go
And let’s be honest—that’s the part most people avoid.
They want expansion without transformation.
They want increase without discipline.
They want results without becoming the person who can sustain them.
It doesn’t work like that.
You’re Not Being Denied—You’re Being Prepared
Sometimes you think God is holding you back.
He’s not.
He’s protecting you.
Because if He gave you everything you asked for right now, in your current state, you wouldn’t be able to handle it. You’d lose it, misuse it, or be crushed by it.
So instead of asking, “Why not yet?”
Start asking, “Who do I need to become?”
Pressure Is Part of the Process
Wineskins had to be stretched to hold new wine.
That stretching? That discomfort you’re feeling?
That’s not a problem—that’s preparation.
When your schedule gets tighter…
When your standards get higher…
When your circle gets smaller…
When your mindset starts shifting…
That’s growth.
And growth is never comfortable.
Stop Trying to Fit New Results Into an Old Life
This is where people get stuck.
They try to build a new life while clinging to an old identity.
Same routines.
Same thinking.
Same discipline (or lack of it).
Then they wonder why nothing changes.
You don’t get new results by repeating old patterns.
You get new results by becoming a new person.
Here’s the Bottom Line
If you want the next level, you have to become the container for it.
More stronger.
More wiser.
More disciplined.
More focused.
More aligned.
Because the blessing isn’t just about what you receive—it’s about what you can sustain.
So stop asking for more…
and start becoming more.
That’s how you hold the new wine.
Now go make it happen!

A Final Note
FROM MANNY D.
Growth isn’t about getting more—it’s about becoming more. If your habits, mindset, and discipline don’t evolve, your results won’t either. Let the pressure stretch you. Let the process refine you. The next level isn’t waiting on luck—it’s waiting on the version of you who’s ready to carry it.
Until next time,
Manny D. Rosa
