What If the Storm Means You’re Exactly Where You’re Supposed to Be?

What's up, my Greats!
Let me challenge something you probably believe.
When life gets hard, you immediately assume something is wrong.
Business slows down.
Money gets tight.
The plan falls apart.
The relationship gets shaky.
And suddenly you’re asking:
“God, did I make the wrong move?”
Maybe not.
Because sometimes the storm doesn’t mean you missed God.
Sometimes the storm is exactly where God is developing you.
In Matthew 14, Jesus sends His disciples across the water.
They obey.
Then what happens?
A storm.
Read that again.
They weren’t in the storm because they disobeyed.
They were in the storm because they obeyed.
That changes everything.
“But Jesus immediately said to them: ‘Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.’”
— Matthew 14:27
Stop Thinking Every Struggle Means You’re Off Course
This mindset destroys people.
We assume obedience should produce ease.
“I followed God, so why is this hard?”
“I started the business, so why am I struggling?”
“I took the leap, so why isn’t everything working?”
Because purpose doesn’t come with a turbulence-free guarantee.
Sometimes the resistance is part of the route.
Storms Reveal Your Foundation
Anybody can have faith when the water is calm.
Anybody can believe when revenue is growing.
Anybody can be confident when everybody is applauding.
But what happens when the wind starts blowing?
That’s when you discover what you actually believe.
Storms expose you.
Your fears.
Your insecurities.
Your need for control.
But they also build something in you that comfort never could.
Stop Looking at the Wind
Peter actually stepped out of the boat.
Think about that.
For a moment, he did the impossible.
Then he shifted his focus.
He stopped looking at Jesus and started looking at the storm.
And he sank.
Entrepreneurs do this constantly.
You start with vision.
Then you notice competition.
You start with faith.
Then you look at your bank account.
You start with confidence.
Then somebody criticizes you.
And suddenly, you're sinking.
The storm didn’t change.
Your focus did.
You’re Not Just Going Through It
Here’s the mindset shift.
Stop asking only:
“How do I get out of this?”
Start asking:
“Who am I becoming because of this?”
Maybe this season is teaching you patience.
Maybe it’s strengthening your discipline.
Maybe it’s exposing weaknesses you need to fix.
Maybe it’s forcing you to depend on God instead of yourself.
Don’t waste the storm.
Here’s the Bottom Line
Some storms aren’t sent to destroy you.
They’re allowed to develop you.
So stop assuming difficulty means you made the wrong decision.
If you know you were called forward, keep moving forward.
Don’t go back just because the wind got stronger.
Keep rowing.
Keep building.
Keep praying.
Keep believing.
And keep your eyes on the One who can walk on what you’re afraid will drown you.
Because when this storm finally passes, the greatest victory may not be what changed around you.
It may be what changed inside you.
Don’t just go through the storm.
Grow through it.
Now go make it happen!

FROM MANNY D.
Don’t waste your storm wishing it would end. Ask what it came to teach you. Some lessons can only be learned when the wind is blowing and the water gets rough. Keep your faith, keep your focus, and keep moving. The storm may be temporary, but the growth can last forever.
Until next time,
Manny D. Rosa
