Even the Strong Get Discouraged

What's up, my Greats!
Let’s kill this lie right now:
Just because you’re discouraged doesn’t mean you’re weak.
Some of the strongest people you know are carrying silent battles nobody sees.
Entrepreneurs. Leaders. Builders. Visionaries.
People who smile publicly while privately wondering:
“Am I even making progress?”
“Is this still worth it?”
“Did I get this wrong?”
And here’s what’s wild—John the Baptist felt that too.
The same man who boldly prepared the way…
the same man who publicly declared truth…
the same man who knew exactly who Jesus was…
ended up discouraged in prison, asking questions.
“Are you the one who is to come, or should we expect someone else?”
— Matthew 11:3
Read that carefully.
Even someone with conviction can hit a season of confusion.
Discouragement Distorts Your Vision
This is what discouragement does.
It makes you question things you were once certain about.
Not because the truth changed…
But because your environment got heavier.
John wasn’t doubting because God failed him.
He was struggling because pain, isolation, and unmet expectations were clouding his perspective.
Sound familiar?
You thought by now things would move faster.
You thought the breakthrough would’ve happened already.
You thought success would feel different.
And when reality doesn’t match expectation, discouragement creeps in.
Don’t Build Your Faith on Feelings
Here’s the problem with emotions: they change hourly.
One good day, and you feel unstoppable.
One setback and suddenly you’re questioning everything.
That’s dangerous.
Because if your vision only survives when you feel motivated, it won’t survive entrepreneurship.
You need something deeper than emotion.
You need conviction.
Progress Is Still Progress
Jesus responds to John by pointing to what’s happening:
The blind see.
The lame walk.
Lives are changing.
In other words:
“Look at the fruit.”
That’s important.
Because discouragement has a way of making you ignore progress just because perfection hasn’t happened yet.
You’re so focused on what hasn’t happened that you completely overlook what already has.
Stop Romanticizing Easy
A lot of people think calling equals comfort.
No.
Sometimes purpose comes with pressure.
Sometimes leadership feels lonely.
Sometimes growth feels exhausting.
That doesn’t mean you’re failing.
It means you’re human.
Don’t Quit in an Emotional Season
This is the part I really need you to hear:
Don’t make permanent decisions in temporary discouragement.
Don’t abandon the vision because today feels heavy.
Don’t walk away because the process got harder than expected.
Rest if you need to.
Reset if you need to.
Pray if you need to.
But don’t quit.
Here’s the Bottom Line
Even strong people get discouraged.
Even called people get tired.
Even faithful people have moments where they question things.
That doesn’t disqualify you.
What matters is what you do next.
So lift your head.
Refocus your mind.
Remember why you started.
And keep moving.
Because discouragement may visit you.
But it doesn’t get to define you.
Now go make it happen!

FROM MANNY D.
Discouragement doesn’t mean you’re off track—it means you’re human. Don’t let one hard season make you forget everything you’ve already survived. Keep showing up. Keep building. Keep believing. The people who win aren’t the ones who never struggle—they’re the ones who refuse to stay down when they do.
Until next time,
Manny D. Rosa
