Not Everyone Is Going With You

What's up, my Greats!
Let's talk about something nobody likes to discuss.
Growth changes relationships.
And sometimes, that's painful.
As entrepreneurs, leaders, and high achievers, we love talking about vision, discipline, success, and purpose. What we don't talk about enough is what happens when your growth starts creating distance between you and people you care about.
That's real.
And if you've experienced it, you're not crazy.
In Matthew 12, Jesus says something that probably shocked everyone listening:
"For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother."
— Matthew 12:50
Think about that.
He wasn't dishonoring His earthly family.
He was revealing something deeper:
Shared purpose creates powerful connections.
Not Everyone Understands Your Calling
The moment you decide to grow, some people will celebrate you.
Others won't.
Some people loved the old version of you.
The version that played small.
The version that stayed comfortable.
The version that never challenged the status quo.
But when you start changing, some relationships start feeling different.
Not because you're better.
Because you're different.
Proximity Doesn't Equal Alignment
This is one of the hardest lessons in life.
Just because someone is close to you doesn't mean they're aligned with where you're headed.
You can love people deeply and still realize they don't understand your vision.
You can respect people and still recognize they don't share your values.
You can care about people without allowing them to influence every decision you make.
That's maturity.
Your Environment Is Shaping Your Future
Look around.
Who are you spending time with?
Who speaks into your life?
Who challenges you to grow?
Who encourages your purpose instead of criticizing it?
The people around you are either stretching your thinking or shrinking it.
There is very little middle ground.
Stop Looking for Validation From Everyone
This is where many entrepreneurs get stuck.
They want support from people who were never meant to understand their assignment.
They want validation from people who don't share their vision.
They want approval from people who aren't willing to make the sacrifices required for growth.
Stop it.
Not everyone has to agree with you.
Not everyone has to understand you.
Not everyone has to support your dream.
Build Your Circle Intentionally
The older I get, the more I realize this:
The right people are priceless.
People who challenge you.
People who sharpen you.
People who tell you the truth.
People who encourage your growth.
Those relationships are gifts.
Protect them.
Invest in them.
Appreciate them.
Here's the Bottom Line
Success isn't just about what you build.
It's also about who you build it with.
Choose your circle wisely.
Choose your influences carefully.
And understand that some relationships are based on history, while others are based on purpose.
Both matter.
But when it comes to fulfilling your calling, purpose has to win.
Because the people who help you become who you're meant to be are often the greatest blessings you'll ever receive.
Now go make it happen!

FROM MANNY D.
Not everyone is assigned to your future. Some people are part of your story, but not part of your destination. Love people well, but be intentional about who influences your thinking. The right circle won't just support your growth—they'll challenge you to become everything you're capable of becoming.
Until next time,
